As of October 2008, we are presently working on a Nordhavn that has been dropped from a travel hoist.

A thermal scan has proven that the hull is sound, but the thruster tunnel was cracked and the interior woodwork has considerable damage.

We are confident that the vessel will be magnificent and seaworthy in just a few short weeks!!

We are looking forward to showing the owners their yacht after we are finished. Come back in a week or so to view the pictures.

47bridgedamage.jpgTo the right is a Nordhavn 47 that didn't quite make the turn in a following current, just before the bridge opened.

The moral of this story..... Keep some distance between you and the bridge!

fire_started_here.JPGOn the left is a Nordhavn 47 engineroom. This time a faulty GFI outlet, some building debris and a tripped breaker in the pilothouse, is to blame for a fire that literally gutted the engineroom.

The breaker was reset a couple of times at which point it stayed on while the fire took a hold. The heat melted the plastic Racor filter bowl and deposited fuel into the fire!

16 Weeks and a large insurace claim. But now the boat looks better than new. She left Yacht Tech with James on board for a sea trial to New York, spent the summer in New England, back to Florida, on to the  Eastern Caribbean, through the Panama canal and on up the West coast to Seattle.
