Boats are easy to fix! People on the other hand........ I have just had my eyes opened:
As some of you may know, just one month ago our youngest son Justin (7)
was diagnosed with type1 diabetes, a lifelong debilitating disease. This came as a complete shock to all of us. He spent 5
days in St Mary's children's hospital and was told that he "will not get better". Our family is just learning about
the day to day struggles associated with this disease, not to mention sleepless nights and constant worrying about life threatening
blood sugar "lows" and "highs". Once terrified of needles, Justin now receives insulin injections twice
daily along with four daily finger pricks to monitor glucose levels in his blood.
Aware of possible future complications including heart disease, kidney failure, blindness,
and amputation, we can only hold on to the hope that there will be a cure discovered in Justin's lifetime. The Juvenile Diabetes
Research Foundation (JDRF) is the leading organization in providing funding for research of type 1 diabetes to various institutions.
We will be participating in their annual Walk, raising money to Cure Diabetes on Saturday March 6th, in West Palm Beach.
I will also be coming up with a plan to raise money by donating a portion
of Yacht Tech's profits from the brokerage business, to the JDRF.
Please don't hesitate to call my wife Janice (561 312 4277), or myself
(561 262 4279), if you would like to donate or help us in any way, regarding this matter.
Alternatively, you can go right to the JDRF website to find out more.
